Default Help with Drive by wire please

I recently took my car into the dealership for a seat recall and while it was there i had them take a quick look at what might be causing my "limp-home" mode to be coming on all the time. I was told that the drive by wire act up alot on the V6 and I would have to replace it. Since it is part of the throttle body I decided to go after an aftermarket TB. Can I just buy the BBK throttle body or do I still have to buy the drive by wire part of it and then integrated to the BBK?
Or is it not even worth it and stick to OEM?
Thanks...

The dealers story sounds a bit fishy to me. I would NOT replace the TB, especially with an aftermarket one. What mods do you have? Have you thrown a CEL and if so, what was it? This may be a simple case of cleaning the TB and MAF and/or an upgrade to your tune.

Seat recall?
Expand on that one, please.
You cant mention recall around here without fully splaining youres selves...
The DBW is not bad on the V6es.
In fact, its the same system and components as the GT cept the TB.
Dont believe the money hungry grubbin stealerships.
Sell you anyting if theys cans....
Aftermarkets TBs are not the thing to throw at a TB problem.
What codes are being thrown so you
can diagnose the problem youres selves.
Its not rocket science.
Ford techs are not gods....

Well actully they weren't trying to sell it to me. In fact the service writter didnt seem interested in spending too much time talking about it. But I mentioned the symptoms to him and he mentioned the DBW beign a suspect.
But I would need to hook up the scan tool and let you guys know what the DTCs are. Last time I checked it was two codes. One was something with the throttle/pedal position sensor malfunction and the other I dont remember. I notice it does it more with my A/C on. Not all the time but more often with it on.
I'll post them a little later

Gotta post up them codes!
Also, the DBW is not the issue, but some component may be dirty, sticking, loose, broken, or messed up. Usually the problem is a sticking/dirty TB or dirty MAF. Again, without the specific codes, you won't get a lot of help.
Those codes tell A LOT about what the computer detects as problematic. Very helpful.
