Default [HELP] cluster swap?!

I have 08 V6, manual, no ABS/TCS/IUP

Few days back, I opened my stock radio and
found there was a connector behind dummy switch cover next to cigar jack.
And today, I just find thread about IUP mod.

And I really want to have 6 guage cluster.

I think I need:
cluster from 07+ V6 pony package (If I found used part)
(as long as I know, Pony pkg has 6 guage cluster and IUP option.
And 07+ has TPMS. I'm afraid GT cluster will give me misreading on speed)
switch for mycolor control (07+)
And maybe a trip to dealer to reflash the cluster.(Hope not)

Are these correct?
Will GT part really give me error?
Can it be done without visiting dealer?
Any other ideas/inputs??

From what I understand if you want to go through the dealer to have them reflash a new cluster, you need to have a brand new cluster. They won't flash a used one. The only reason to re-flash the cluster is to get the correct mileage on your car. This could have implications with your warranty and/or re-selling the car if not done through the dealer. I do not believe the GT cluster will give a mis-read speed though I may be wrong.

I found these info. (It is for 06+ stangs. I don't know yet for older stangs.)

Part number for Mustang Instrument cluster:
#R3$-10849-&@
# = model year
$ = 3 for GT or V6, V for GT500
& = F for V6 6 gauge KPH unit, E for V6 6 gauge MPH unit.
B for V6 4 gauge KPH unit, A for V6 4 gauge MPH unit.
D for GT 4 gauge KPH unit, C for GT 4 gauge MPH unit.
H for GT 6 gauge KPH unit, G for GT 6 gauge MPH unit.
@ = either A, B, C, or D.

So, basically,I'll need 8R33-10849-E@.
But I don't know which one has my color option.
But some Canadian members used FA clusters for their conversion.
Should I look for "8R33-10849-EA"?

I have been doing some reading on this and wish that someone would come forward with some conclusive evidence on parts needed and the deal with the reflash from the dealer is (when its needed and such).

From my understanding there is still some debate over when the reflash is needed however. I've heard of people swapping in used clusters and having no problems. I've also heard of people who have had problems and end up needing to get it reflashed at a dealer. Which i'm pretty sure most will not do unless its new. So yeah......?

I found used one that came off from 2008 V6 with similar miles.
I think I'll try that....

But will it be matter automatic and manual? anyone knows?

Just looking at the owners manual I'd have to say no, as there is not a different gauge cluster shown for autos.

Automatics have an overdrive on/off light in the cluster
