Default Here's a dumb exhaust question

Since my car came with a single, crappy v6 exhaust, and now has GT takeoff duals, is this going to create any issues when I take it in to get it smogged. I mean, with a stock tune, the emissions are exactly the same as before, other than being channeled to two mufflers instead of one. Is that going to make things difficult for the bureaucrats?

I won't need to know for another four years. Just curious.

It should do even better on emissions because the car's low end torque is reduced by reducing back pressure.

It won't affect inspectability. They wont do a smog test on it but would read the OBDII system instead.
(And it's not a dumb question.)

Yeha, that's what I was getting at, since clearly, adding another muffler isn't going to increase the emissions. But bureaucrats have a way of taking something inconsequential like that and using it as an excuse not to do their jobs, so I wanted to know what to expect. Thanks.
