4300K is what you will see in most stock applications on new vehicles. 5000k and 6000k will start losing the "white" light and begin adding the "blue" light that you see. Anything after that is just for looks. The really blue output is getting up into the 10,000k and 13,000k range which means you will have less if any white light output and less visibility. Especially in the rain. 4300k to 6000k is what I would stick with.

Check out mobilehid.com there is a ton of info you can read up on.

I've developed my own custom one-off HID system to my specification in co-opperation with Sylvania's aftermarket arm Xsighting Lighting.

Here's some basic info I needed to deal with for my custom HID's which should help...

4100k is the brightest HID.

If you're looking for brightness the best route is easily shown here:

Left is White, right is 6000k

Wow, that is the first time I have seen a side-by-side of those two products. Thank you. What is the "K" on the HID?

"K" is for Kelvin which is the color temperature of light.

Hey NJ3,

I was aware of what it stood for, I was asking that the number was; 5000k, 6000k, etc. Sorry for the confusion.

I got the 4300k 55w digital kit from retrosolutions and I love the light output. 4300k puts out the most light and look much whiter than stock, without the bluish tint of the 6000k.

Here are the HID's next to stock fog lights

And here's what they look like after I also converted the fog lights

My mis understanding. I really like the look of the 4300k HIDs flash xx, think I'm going to have to do those on my car.

Wow, I like those a lot too.
Quick question, what is the difference in output if I get the 35W over the 55W? Or vice versa?
