07 Mustang V6, adding GT bumper and fog lights and HID, but have ?
Hey everyone,
I have a 2007 Mustang Pony and I'm adding the GT front bumper and fog lights. I just got done adding the 6000k HID's to the headlights and I want to do HID's in the fogs, but my Mustang didn't come with any fog lamps from the factory. Is there factory fog lamp wiring somewhere behind the bumper or in the bay? I've seen the kits on ebay for like 80 bux, but do I need that if I'm adding a fog light HID kit?
My question is, do I need to get an aftermarket fog light wiring harness, or can I just install the HID kit to the fog lights? Not sure on what I'd do for a switch though??? Maybe I can wire in a switch to the HID kit only?
Any help would be appreciated

I think that the factory harness should have the pigtails needed for the DRIVING lights. They may be tucked back near the top of the radiator. You'll probably need to rewire the HID ballasts into them anyway, but it would save the hassle of wiring it back to the switch.

iF YOUr V6 didnt have fogs, there are NO pigtails tucked up anywhere.
You must add a relay and a switch (GT headlight Switch prefered...)
If you are truely gonna do this, I have the schematics of how I did it.
eBay sells the harness and the headlight switch....

+1. Unless you have a Pony Package with fogs already, you wont have what you need for foglights. The extent of the wiring is, there is a location in the underhood fuse box for a relay and fuse, and there are wires run to the headlight switch and SMJ.
A GT headlight switch is a great way to do the switching, but that just provides a ground to the SMJ which is supposed to energize the relay, assuming the relay is in; but most likely, the SMJ is not configured as such and won't ground the relay pin that it is supposed to.
And then there's the need to run the wiring to the lights themselves.
I dont know what wiring kits are available, but I simply got the headlamp connectors and ran the needed wires, tying into the underhood relay/fuse center at the appropriate relay output. And I cheated on the SMJ signal/ground wire, bypassing the SMJ and routing the wire direct to the headlight switch.
It works just like in a GT now, pull out the switch when the parking lights are on, and the fogs come on.

I have the same problem, no fogs on the v6. I am looking to go with a fog lights but it is seeming less and less likely with all the complications.

I put fogs on my base V6; got a V6 compatible grille from the forums, fog lamps from a Mustang parts site, and the wiring harness from street scene. It can easily be done in under an hour if you take your time. Simple +/- hookups and the lamps will just plug right into the harness. The provided instructions with the SS harness are really good.

Thanks guys, I have the GT front bumper and fog lights and will be wiring a separate HID kit for the fogs.
I am thinking of splicing a switch into the HID kit and put somewhere stealth or think about adding the GT switch like mentioned above and wiring/relay ......
Anymore advice is greatly appreciated

I wanted to go that route
but the wires from the connector
under the BEC for the fogs are just not there.
No 'wiring into the loom" here.
Unless you have access to the AMP pins that the OEM
BEC plug accepts, you are dead in the water. Period.
Link me to the Delphi 'pins' and I will reconsider the "FAIL" comment...
The harness is different as in it has no fog light pins or wires
in it if it is not a PP. There are two different harness part #s.
One V6 and one PP/GT harness. One with fog wiring and one
sans fog wiring...
