Thumbs Down unless you dont plan on keeping her for too long
or are very lean in the $$ dept.
A GT take-off M/T pass side would improve the sound
but if you must have dual tips out there with no improvement
in giddy-up and go, just apperances, thats the cheapest way
to go....
So its a big thumbs down to the Pypes and a thumbs up to
the single M/T take-off or the whole schmere depending what final
outcome you desire. Looks or sound or both with no HP improvement.

Good info. I was unaware that there was a difference.

[QUOTE=scorpio333;6568812]. You could put a single GT takeoff on and essentially you're done adding power via the exhaust. Adding the duals is mostly a looks/sound thing on the 6. I had a GT takeoff on for about a year, just added the driver's side and there is no seat of the pants difference, but it does look better!
QUOTE]

This is my question exactly, and I'm glad to get some first-hand knowledge from someone who's got a realworld before/after experience. I installed the single GT takeoff about 6 months ago and noticed a nice little jump in power and a throatier sound. I've had the second muffler gathering dust in the garage, trying to decide if I should install it. If not, it's time to get rid of the thing. The second muffler would be mainly for looks. However, I've got a 'vert and really don't want any more volume or drone than what I've got already with the single. What difference did you notice in sound volume and drone when you added the second GT take-off?

No drone. Not really any louder overall, just a fuller sound...like mono vs stereo. You know there's a pipe and muffler on the driver's side, especially with the window down, but it's not obnoxious.

Thanks. This is exactly the first-hand info I've been wanting to get.

Hey,

There is one thing that you might have to add if your car doesn't already come with it. I'm not sure what the name of it is... But its the mid x brace mounts. These mount the x pipe to the car. Looks like 2 large rubber grommets. I went to have my x pipe system installed and my car did not have those installed. In fact... i still have to install them. Car seems to be running fine without.

I had mine removed because it can cause a vibration from the mid hangers which are not needed.

I have Pypes X pipe with mid pipe and two GT (Manual) mufflers and I am pleased with the way it looks and sounds. I will say that if Ford had the Ford Racing Performance Parts setup when I was shopping for duals, I would have bought it;

Later on, I plan on changing the mufflers out with Borla or Bassani.
