20's on a V6 Mustang... issues?

You also heard straight from an owner about the problems with 20s and potholes.

haha I love the disclaimer but I agree with this statement and would add that on a V6 without some body modifications it will look strange. There are some people on here that have changed their sideskirts and bumpers and they look nice with 20s.

Exactly why I have been drawn to keeping the 16" with the spinners on mine. The 65's give it a much more retro look to me, even over the 55's. I know I must be the odd man out on that view.

I think Ford missed the boat with those 16" Halibrand copies. Had it been me I would have made that the premium wheel in 17" and 18" sizes. Talk about a retro look. What was cooler in the old days besides Halibrands ? Nothing.

20S TELLS ME NOTHING ABOUT YOUR TIRE/RIM
SELECTION TO DETERMINE IF THERE ARE GOING TO BE PROBLEMS.
tIRE SIZE, RIM WIDTH AND OFFSET/BACKSPACING IS INFO
NEEDED TO DETERMINE PROPER 20" TIRE FITMENT...

Keep in mind people get bigger rims because they want to fill out thier wheel well, or just have bigger tires in general, but you don't need bigger rims to do that.
Bigger rims usually bring shorter tires, so 18"s with normal tires = same size as 20"s with skinny tires etc. (this is just a rough guide)
You can have 16" rims with big meaty tires and it will look good too. Just a thought.

Go with 20's definitely.
and if you take care of them you will never need to replace them, and it will take a big *** pothole to damage a rim, you would have to be pretty careless to hit one going fast enough that it would do damage. I've had mine on about 10 months total and i've never even scraped a curb, just take care of them

ive had 20s forever with 255/35/20s all around, live in mn with potholes all over, and have had no problems. not as light as 17s, but im willing to accept that. with the vortech + 20s i can spin the tires 10 times easier than i ever could with the slippery pirellis that came on my 17s.
