Car not starting help!
So the battery is fine. I had it checked. I'm not sure if its the alternator but I replaced it a year ago. Sorry im a bit of a newbie when it comes down to auto repair. But is there something else I'm missing? If I jump it, it works. But when I turn it off all it does is the click click click click noise and everything resets. Thanks for the help!

If the battery and alternator are fine, the battery voltage with the engine off should be above 12.5 volts. I'm not sure what the voltage should be at when cranking but I THINK it's 11.0 volts or higher. If you're car will crank and start with a jump, then it's one or the other. If your battery will accept a charge (overnight on a charger), then suspect the alternator... again.

Thanks guys. i'll check all that out. i'll update when i come up with the solution.
EDIT: one thing i forgot to mention... drivers side door was not working well. meaning when i would throw it up it wouldnt stop so it would hit the top and then refer about a quarter hight from the bottom up. but after this now it "semi" works. when i open it, it does that little automatic thing where it drops a bit but when i close the door it goes back up really slow. so dont know if that "might" have something to do with. At 1st i thought the damn cd thief aka shaker 500 was doing it. seeing as how it swallowed my cds.

My vote is a bad battery. The alternator must be working for the car to run after it is cranked. BTW, I'll assume the headlights are bright while the car is running when they are turned on.

Before you spend any bucks you might want to check if any of the connections are dirty,i.e.-starter,battery etc. I just had this same issue with my f250 and even after cleaning everything I could it still turned out to be a dead cell in the battery. good luck!
P.S. the battery tested good twice soooo?

Shakers are known to kill batteries. I would say clean the battery terminals with a wire brush! My gf's 2000 had this issue and it turned out there was too much crap on the terminals on the battery. try cleaning and then if that doesn't work try wriggling them a little while someone else starts it, that will confirm whether or not you need to replace them
