0-60 times on tuned V6
I came across this interesting website that compares 0-60 and quarter mile times for most Ford cars since the 1960s. There are listings for every make of car. Pretty interesting read. The fastest Mustangs on their books are these two:
2011 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 0-60 mph 4.0 Quarter Mile 12.2
2003 Ford Mustang Cobra SVT 0-60 mph 4.4 Quarter mile 12.2
The slowest Mustang ever is the 1974 Ford Mustang II (Auto) @ 0-60 mph 15.5 Quarter mile 19.2
A stock 2008 V6 convertible is listed at 7.2 secs for zero-sixty and a 1/4 mile at 15.5. That's quicker than I expected to be honest. I'm wondering how fast I might be running after my CAI and tune. I see a lot of quarter mile times posted in this forum, and I see a lot of times from blown cars. I'm just wondering about 0-60 in a tuned V6. I know that's a meaningless number in lots of ways, but that's the benchmark used in most car publications and reviews. Anyone had a stopwatch on their car?

0-60 doesn't do much good the more power you get. For one, you'll start having traction issues and spin tires from a dead stop, so the time is not that meaningful. Track times, 1/8 and 1/4 mile, IMO, are more meaningful.
But, nice link/reference nonetheless!!!

I used my SCT to data log a 0-60 in my auto vert with a 180lb passenger. I clocked in at 6.9 I believe before I did my dual exhaust. I used the rpm, time stamp, and mph logging. Downloaded it to a spreadsheet and counted the time from my idle rpm until the MPH go to 60.

Stock 0-60 for our cars is low 7s. Stock 1/4 mile is low 15s. While I cannot personally attest to the 1/4 mile time, when my car was stock I used an iPod app to measure my 0-60 and got about a 7.1 5 times in a row.

Was that 6.9 sec time after your CAI and tune? That's what I'm looking for. I'm trying to estimate what my 0-60 is now after my mods.

Good find Dave. I experimented with my SCT dashscanner (plugs in the OBD-II port and starts timing when you press the gas, stops at 60mph), and got 5.2 and 5.5. Not sure how accurate that is
