Default what is this (see photo)

what is this, i am putting racing seats in my 08 v6 and i am trying to figure out what this little black box is.... thanks

sorry i should explain where this is, passenger side, if you take the seat lay it on the ground with the track facing you it is on the top, or if mounted in the car is is towards the front of the car.

I bet it's some kind of sensor for the air bag.

haha i wish, i would have used it by now though, ok so next question, do i leave it or rip it out and ziptie it to my racing seats???

Looks like the Occupant Classification Module for the airbag

Does it plug into anything or is it RF? If it is RF, keep the seat far from the car, start up the car and see if the airbag light stays on or if you get some weird readings. I would guess you most likely need to attach to your new seats.

what is RF? sorry, and yes it plugs into a harness that is connected to the car... And i dont think it is the airbag sensor because it doesn't have any wires fed to the seat at all, it is just sitting there.... but i will start her up let her idle see if i get and codes thrown, and i guess it doesnt hurt to just yank it off.... its not like the racing seats have any airbags so there is no chance for them to randomly go off haha
