7.5" Locker and Gears.....Will any that size fit?
Like the title says:
If I were to get 7.5 inch gears and locker will any locker of the same size that's made by ford for the mustang fit?
Or will I need a special ones for the s197 rearend?
I can't imagine that the internals of teh 7.5 will be any different but you never know....better safe than sorry.
Thanks ya'll!

You don't need a locker.
You don't want a locker.
I'm trying to convince you. Lockers are loud and annoying to drive around in.
If you want a better because yours is gone then get an Auburn LSD that is gear driven. Stronger than anything your motor could make if it was built with a big turbo.
Or if you to really be innovative you can go to a junk yard and find a complete rear end on a S197 GT and take it home.

I took a 2003 Ranger with a 7.5 and used that locker. Fairly easy job for a mechanic to do, but if you've never installed gears before, stay away. You have to set side and pinion shims to get an acceptable backlash. I've done many of these, so in and out in less than an hour on the rack. I love the way this car goes around in the snow, even before the tracloc. Good weight to power in this car.
