right now I got 345X35-19's for drag radials I was considering 17" M/T's to get more side wall for better grip. was looking at 315X45-17's but not sure if they would fit? I will prolly end up with a 4.10 gear. time will tell I found some good deals on 3.73 gears. I need to decide how fast I want this car to go.

You Said Your Going To Put Spray On It? 4:30 Will Be A Waste....First Off Even For An N/A Car They Are Steep, 410 Is Ok, Secondly, If Your Going To spray The Thing You Will Definatly Be Loosing Traction...Also Because Of The Spray You Will Top Out Of Your RPM Range In No Time And Wont Even Be Able To Use Your Spray....They Say Dont Use Spray Under 3000RpM Or You Can Get Backfire....So You Have From 3g To 7G To Use it. But With Your 4:30s And Your Foot On The Floor, How Much RPM Range Do You have left To Spray? Blah....N/A Stick With 4:10....Any Spray Or Forced Induction Your Gunna Have To Bump It Down To A 373 Or Something.

Building a 7.5 up is not a waste of time depending upon your future goals. If you plan on sticking N/A then there is not a problem with a built 7.5. Not to mention its about 40 #'s lighter. If boost is in your future then yes an 8.8 is a must IMO.
To the OP, are you even considering a turbo or no?

You need to run the numbers on the different gear and tire combo's to determine what gear & rpm you will be at through the traps. My guess is 4.30 will be too much and you'll need to shift into OD. Get a good nitrous tune and some traction and 12's are very doable. The rear and trans are going to be the weakest links.

I have an auto with 4.10s and love it. At first it took a "little" getting used to but i'm used to it now and it's definitely not too much gear. Stay away from 3.73s or you'll end up wanting 4.10s, especially since you are/were originally thinking of 4.30s. You'll be fine with the 7.5 rear as long as you don't supercharge.
