Default Good plugs for xcharged car.

I was going to swap plugs at the 50k mark. Price isn't much of a factor, just need plugs that are very good for my boosted + water/meth sixxer. I don't think gap should be much of an issue, which is why I am also considering e3's.

Gap is an issue, I would contact Dave @ EE, he is the ultimate source for this

He recommended the plugs I have in the car. But I highly doubt copper plugs are any good.

I can't remember why the gap or using copper plugs was an issue with x-charger, but it was. I will see if I can find the info, but we had a discussion on it.

Several people have tried those e3's and have had problems.

The recommended plugs - at the right gap - are really good actually. Don't let the price concern you. Too many people think that there is a formula that says ">price = >quality". That isn't necessarily true; a lot of things are very expensive but are crap.

I've had excellent luck with NGK TR6's

Don't go for the snakeoil type expensive plugs

Autolite 5143's, the ones that come with the X. Just because they aren't spendy doesn't mean they aren't good. They work really well and last a LONG time. I just changed mine after 33,000 miles and they all looked practically new! I was very impressed. I just changed them anyway for peace of mind.

The gap for the 5143's on the X is .035 on stock coil. I think you can open them up a bit if you have the aftermarket coil and wires.

Jim, wasn't there a thread on the collective or maybe even here where the e3's would burn holes? I could have sworn I read that somewhere.

It was on one of the two - I can't remember now either. But I recall a burning problem, and someone had a problem with the e3 hitting the top of the piston?
