Yep, knew a girl who was doing 80 mph in a 35 mph speed zone. Because she was only 17, her mom had to attend classes with her.
It was stupid on her part for going so fast on a curvy two lane road in a residential area.

ya az has traffic school also, you can go once every two years, if you get more than 1 ticket in a two year time frame you get points.

Get a lawyer if you can. I got pulled over doing 50 in a 30 (one month later the speed limit on that road was changed to 45) and he got me a $150 noise violation, no points, no driving school.

I got my first ticket in the Stang the weekend before last. I was on 95 South in Southern Virginia, I got pulled over for 78 in a 65, there was a minivan in front of me going faster but the cop decided to pull me over. To me 13 miles over the limit isn't as bad a some others on the roads escpecially on 95. I got the ticket which will cost around $120. I slowed down to 5 mph over speed limit for the rest of my trip to North Carolina, and same on the way back, passed many radars at that speed on the way back to Arlington VA and not a single cop flinched.

I got pulled over for 84 in a 65, cop reduced it to 75 in a 65. Paid $260 to go to traffic school and the instructor told me to stay at 72 on cruise control because "chances were slim" for getting pulled over at that speed according to him. Do radar detectors really work? I was considering one awhile ago but im skeptical until I see it in action ha.

i dont know bout cheaper ones but mine is a top of the line valentine one and i can guarantee it works
its payed itself back several times over
the only thing that sucks tho is when cops use lasers. lasers are undetectable before hand unlike radars bc they dont scatter like a radar beam does. so find out if most of the cops in ur area use lasers or radars. personally ive only been lasered twice, and that was in houston bc the cops there have way too much money which sucks.

The school is a good idea to reduce the ticket and points.
They'll bore you to death but it's worth it in your case...

And I also like to now about lawyer costs on a $150 ticket, lol.

It worked well for me a couple a years back, got nailed in a school zone, at the time I thought all zones were 25, this one was 20 oops...
Also - I was happily doing 27 on my speedo thinking its no problem, but forgot my speedo was off on the truck at the time, They wrote me up for 33 in an active 20 school zone - ouch. Actually its good to see our finest watching the safety of everyone by my daughters school.

Still the cost of the school + paying the ticket was still under the price of just paying the ticket and I kept my 'safe driver' status for insurance. Since I did it online I just watched a couple of old movies doing it on the laptop.

If the ticket will be under 200.00, then i will pay it and plead guilty... If it is higher, i'm thinking i should fight it. Best case, he doesn't show and i get it dismissed, worst case i have to pay it... How much are court fees and would it be smart to just go there and plead guilty and see if i can get it reduced or at least get a payment plan...

how much is an online course to get the points knocked off?
