Default Best Brake Pads for a V6???

I recently replaced the Front Pads and Rotors on my V6 Convertible. I went the Advance Auto route. This might not have been the best of options. I got the "Best" Pads they had that were available - to them. They have been constantly dirty and very noisy... Squeaks and squeals. I went and complained. The criticized my installation job. I took it all apart and did it again.... Paying very close attention to cleanliness. And about two weeks later, I am back in the same boat. Dirty Rims and Noisy Pads!!! Can anyone recommend Good, Clean, Not Noisy Pads???

Putting brake grease on the contact points usually helps prevent squeak. I used to not use that stuff, and sometimes had brakes squeak from time to time. Now I use it on all the brakes I do, and never a squeak.
For pads, Hawk makes really good pads. Dont know about they squeak. But if its the metal contact points, different pads wont help.

I too just replaced my rotors & pads on Jan.28th. I had been using EBC Red brake pads and they were quiet BUT God were they dirty. I was in a hurry with this brake job(leaving for Chicago the next day)and went to my local auto parts store and brought Wagner Thermo Quiet pads and rotors(not Wagner). The pads seem to be quiet & clean after 2500 miles and the car stops just fine. Unfortunately the rotors are real crap and the car has a vibration at 70 mph that 2 different sets of wheels & tires can't eliminate! I thought I was buying American made but found out to late that the American company had just put there sticker over the Made in China sticker! First chance I get I'm junking these rotors and getting American made Motorcraft rotors. I'm keeping the Wagner pads BUT if they were not almost new I would buy Motorcraft pads.

I installed Hawk HPS pads all around. They came with the "grease" that goes on the OUTSIDE of the pads. I installed myself and they are silent. I haven't noticed any brake dust. I've had them on for 2 months and been very happy.
They seem to stop the car very effectively, better than the stock pads. Although in all fairness, the stockers had 30K miles on them.
FYI running on GT rotors up front, and factory rotors in back.

I run the Hawk HPS pads. They are great on the street and ok at the track.
I always use the spray on stickum on the back of the pad (against the piston) and lightly grease the guides. Never have an issue with noise.

I was just going to make a post regarding this. I have a brake job coming up this spring when it gets somewhat warm again and was curious as to what pads everyone is running. I'm looking at the Hawks from American Muscle.
