You will only need a cobra flange for your DS, unless you buy a axle with one already installed for a sixer.

The weight is really not that much relatively speaking. I would say maybe 40-45 lbs. The 8.8 is a much stronger axle then the 7.5 you have now. I installed mine using all the stock V6 attachment parts except the driveshaft which I would seriously recomend you change as the 05,early 06 driveshaft is crap. Just check your universal joints and you will see that it doesn't have lock rings! Not an ideal setup for the track.The 8.8 takeoff is the best & safest way to go. It will be a bullet proof setup! Your working with a weak axle & a suspect driveshaft. Plus the True Trac is an expensive piece and the added installation costs will probadly put you pretty close to takeoff prices. At least check into it.

If you would be interested in my stock 2010 V6 Shaft, let me know. It should be better then your 05-06.
