Default 06' 4.0l exhaust

Hello al!!! im new to the forum and just wanting some input. Is it really worth it to put dual exhaust on the v6's or is single just as good for sound and min performance gains?????

Welcome to the forum.

You can get more sound from a different muffler. The performance gains that you will get from duals is very minimal. Duals is really just for sound and looks on the 4.0. As far as is it worth it? Thats up to you. One thing to remember is that you won't duplicate the v8 sound. The 4.0 has an even firing order and the v8 has an odd firing order. Thats what gives you the really throaty deep sound... and you WON'T get it out of your v6.

Sound is preference and you should listen to a few setups to determine what you like. What I like you might think sounds like crap and visa versa.

This subject is discussed a lot on here. Do a search on this forum for 'dual exhaust' or 'exhaust' and you'll see tons of these threads. Do some reading and teach yourself, then ask some questions.

Don't take this the wrong way, I had to learn about it the same way.

I went with a Pypes axleback for my 4.0 and I get frequent compliments on the rumble for a V6. I say go with the axleback - saves you money too (no need to put your bumper cover under the knife)

A tune and intake are two things that would further improve the sound of your car from there. An axleback was my first mod, too! Unless you already have the bobbing heads, then sorry to assume it's your first. Welcome to the boards.

Currently, I have a single GT takeoff on mine and it's most excellent. I bought the pair so the other one is awaiting installation. I'm in no screaming rush but do plan on it eventually. Meanwhile, the sound and gain from the takeoff is rather nice. Nice enough so I'm not compelled to go nuts and install the dual system immediately.

Single GT M/T take-off is cheap and its all
the HP increase you would get with DUALS.

If you are even remotely thinking about going F/I in the future then you will want duals otherwise a good single like a GT take off will work just fine.

I agree with most of these posts lol. I went with a single GT manual take off with all the intentions of going dual, mostly for looks, but to even out the tone. I love the sound of the dual gt take offs. not too loud not to quiet. I dont like the look of a mustang with single exhaust at all i like 2 pipes in the back.
you will get more sound out of duals, more sound and a more even sound in the cab.
Single axle back are also good options. Anything is an improvement over the stock muffler.
