Weird, shaker 500 in my v6 loaner sounds much better than my gt
So the dealer put me in a pony package v6 loaner while they put the stripes on my GT. i have been complaining that i miss the shaker 1000 in my 05 because the bass is weak on my new gt with the 500 system in it. i also have all these weird buzzes and rattles when the song has a lot of bass. The V6 package car i am driving right now sounds completely different than my GT. i can crank the bass and volume all the way up and no rattles or buzzes. the bass is also much deeper and more crisp. they are the same radio, any ideas what gives? From what i have read around here getting warranty service on a radio that works is hard to do.

There would be virtually no bass. It should be obvious, but if not you could stick your ear (or hand) up against the door sub. The pathetic stock 5x8 speakers do not produce enough to vibrate much, again, would be obvious.

This one was a new car off the lot, the stereo was set at default settings. i turned the v6 loaner to three bars below max on bass and treble, just like my car. I'm going to take mine in or ask my dealer if they get done with my car in time tomorrow for service to be open.

Yep, just put your hand against the sub in the door you'll instantly know if it's working or not. Unless you're listening to Celine Deon.
