Default 2005 v6 should I add mods?

Is it worth adding mods to my 2005 v6 mustang? and if so? what are some easy mods to install like a CAI and a tuner?

Any Mustang is worth modding or wrenching on if you really like the car. I've seen guys restore a nothing special early 80's V6 Mustang just because they liked it.

For under $1K you can make some significant improvements in performance and / or handling. Dual exhaust, CAI + tune, upgraded or added sway bars, wheels/tires....not all of these for that $ but certainly several depending on what you want to improve.

A lot of take-off or lightly used GT parts can be found if your not too particular about specific upgrades.

Only you can decide if it's "worth it"....good luck.

You'd have to be crazy to mod an 05 V6.

Ugh...

Only you can answer that question, I modded my v6 because it was fun, I enjoy it, and I get tons of compliments and looks so it was worth it to me yes.

Nothing more rewarding than a completed mod in my book. Especially if things started to go south and you saved it. But hey its not for everyone.

Well unlike my past cars, this is one that will be kept for a VERY, VERY long time. Therefore personally I think it's very much worth modding.

If you're only planning on having the car a few years...maybe not unless you move to another Mustang that you can transfer your mods to...

Default THANKS ALL

In 4 years I will be able to afford a used 2011 v6 mustang. It comes with over 300 HP stock and it's 0-60 time is 1.5 seconds faster than the 2005 stock. So I'll hold off on mods UNLESS the SCT tuner and CAI that I want to install on my 2005 can be transferred over to my future 2011. Please let me know if this is possible.

I wouldn't count on your CAI form an 05 working on the 2011. With it being an all new motor there may be just enough difference in how the tube is routed that it won't line up properly. That, of course, is all assuming it would take the same size tube to begin with. The SCT tuner likely won't have the tune program for the 2011 in it unless you wait and buy one after the 2011s have been on the market for awhile.
