you might try holding the button down on the back because i have a similar system that has a button too and when you hold it down for like 3 seconds it turns it on and off

take it to car toys and if it is a alarm system they will know what it is. when i had my stock alarm on my car i had a question about why one of the wires was not connected. they answered my questions no problem. i ended up buying a clifford system from them due to my crazy ex. good luck!
