Default V6 5-speed linkage and clutch - impressions and questions

My V6 has a horrible transition from 2nd to 3rd and my clutch is very low, I have to go almost to the firewall at each change. Is this the general impression everywhere? V6 manuals are rare and so I am finding it difficult to locate a car for comparison.

my trans is pretty crappy and i have a hard time with the trans going in gear on the 1-2 and 2-3. this couldbe because my clutch is on its way out though. also the clutch is extremely heavy and "low" just as you describe it compared to every other car i have ever driven. nothing has come close. i expected more from a hydraulic clutch system. though this all may be subect to the fact that my clutch is very very worn as i dont remember this being the case when i first got the car (though that was a long time ago)

do you have a stock shifter ?? I would miss the 2 to 3 rd shift every time i would take it over 5000 rpm , now i have the Hurst short throw and it works flawless

I did when I first started driving it until I found out it guides itself into 3rd and now I rarely miss it with the stock shifter, all you really have to do is jam it up.
