Default Is this worth it?? TB Spacer

I don't know much about the effects of a Throttle Body Spacer. Can someone tell me what are the advantages to this add-on? Seems pretty simple, and not to difficult to install. But what the heck does it really do to add " up to 8hp" ???

Thanks fellas!

not a damn thing

I suggest you unsubscribe from this thread before the rest of the technical guys here on MF see this.

do a search and you'll see what I mean. TB spacers are worthless on anything with EFI (except chevy TBI).

it's just a snake oil gimmick like the Tornado. it's worth it's weight as a paper weight however

Waste of money. Don't bother.
Might as well buy some "muffler bearings", lol.

Might as well change the blinker fluid while you're at it

But seriously, I've never heard anything good about a TB spacer

the concept makes some sense but the reality is that they do nothing to improve performance and may actually hurt because of added air flow resistance. i actually have one installed in my 2.5L Ranger and noticed nothing. its been in my truck for almost 10 years but i left it in there because its red and it matches my truck's color... LOL. You'll get much more out of an appearance mod with that money OR save it for REAL performance mod.

before he gets any bad ideas...a TBS actually does work on carb'd vehicles. it raises the intake runner length and you will see HP/TQ gains from it.

but not on EFI. the nature of the direct port injection removes the TBS from the picture.
