Question Gas mileage?

Hello
Last wek I got my new 2010 V6. When I got it, it had 60 miles on it and a reading of 10 MPG. Since I started driving it, it was increasing until it reached 13.2 MPG. I'm driving it conservatively until the engine breaks in. Also, I wanted the MPG to go up to its maximum. However, this morning I got a 13.1 MPG reading, less than before. Is it normal? I drive a mix of city and highway, so my MPG should be around 18-20 ( I used to drive a CTS, V6 also and that was the reading I usually got)

are u reading the mpg off the little computer readout on ur dash or calculating it by hand?
bc i know the computer readout is notorious for being inaccurate, but normally it gives u a high read out rather than a low

My 2010 v6 with the manual transmission averages 20 mpg mixed, on the highway only I average more around 28 mpg. I don't have the feature you have because mine is the bare bones base model. But If I were you I would reset the guage(if possible) and start over. could be that the car was only driven in short distances(test drives) and it hasn't had a chance to really register accurate numbers.

That's what I was gonna say. Go through a full tank or two and see if it's more accurate but your 13 mpg isn't far off from my 15. My foot is made of some kind of lead composite though

My mom has the computer readout on her Edge and it is always off by a long shot. Once the car was filled up and it usually reads 350 miles till empty and it read about 240 on a full tank and it took a few hours to correct itself. I would do the math yourself to make sure and not just go by the computer readout.

my MPG read out is within .5 mpg lately....

i'd reset it, and do it by hand and see what you are getting.... 13mpg on a v6 driven conservatively means the dealer needs to see it... i'm getting 22 driving it hard

If you wanted good MPG you should have gotten a 2011 with the V6 that gets good gas mileage...
