Default Auto Trans drag question

So i was looking at the rules at the track near my house for drag racing and it said this:

Non-stock floor auto transmission shifter must be equiped with positive reverse lockout device secured to shifter/transmission not frame

so does this mean i CAN use the stock shifter and only if i have an aftermarket shifter like the streetfighter it would have to have the reverse lockout which does?

Thanks

im not to sure but they can tell you at the track or you can call them. Is your local track Infinion? They are pretty strict. I went two weeks ago and they made me buy a full fireproof suit because im running nitrous. Kinda sucked at the time be cause i didnt want to spent $400 but its a pretty sweet suit lol.

I've always used the stock shifter at the track. That's been 3 years now.

Ya for you it be a big deal but i live three hours away so it kinda made me mad lol. They wont refund your money if you dont pass tech. They let you keep your ticket and use it at another wednesday night drag. Kinda dumb. Hopefully ill see you there next week : ) and goodluck with your question

You put it down into the 1 spot and shift up thru when you drag? Any other tips you could help me out with. Im rather new to racing but I have been called out by couple ricers in town and have been winning but i feel my GT can put down alot more. I also heard turning the overdrive off is something you should do? figured i should ask someone who has ran a few times before. thanks.

Turn OD and TCS off - let the transmission tune handle the shifting. You can't shift better than the computer which is monitoring everything. Determine the proper launch RPM and whether to floor it or feather it from the tree depending upon the track and weather conditions and go.
