Default how bad is a break torque?

so Ive had my car for a few weeks and havent done a break torque. Prob not going to b/c it gets addictive and I learned my lesson years ago with my ram. Tires are expensive!!!

I was just wondering what kind of added wear do you put on a car?

Is it ok to do once in awhile?

Break torque? Are you talking about power braking when you hold the brake slightly and press the gas to get the tire(s) to spin? It puts stress on your tranny when you do that.

It really depends on your definition of "brake torque"... I'll assume you either mean what he said^^ like slightly hitting the brake to lock up the fronts and spin the rears in place or do you mean like an old style full brake stand where you floor the brake, lock em all up and hit the gas, release brake to get a nice burnout?

1st option isn't quite as bad for the car because the drive wheels are moving at least, 2nd puts stress on everything, tranny/brakes/rotors/basically your entire drivetrain and probably isn't a great idea.... I used to do it alot in my beater cars but I really didn't care what happened to them lol. Would never do it in my mustang. Like he said...It's putting stress on the car either way so it's definitely not "good" for it.

ya i mean just pushing down the break and pushing the gas to spin the tires....we actually call a break torque when u pull up the parking break hit the gas then release the break.

How do you pull the e-brake and hit the gas? The e-brake locks your back wheels...

The key word here isn't "brake" or "break" but should be "broke". As in "I think I just broke a u-joint" and "I may have broke my transmission"

What you need for doing burn outs is called a "line lock". This lets you lock just the front wheels. Drag cars use these to heat up the tires before a run.

Yeah a line lock and probably a t-lock too if you want both your tires to spin.
