Default Just changed my spark plugs, annnd...

I have a 2008 V6 and I needed to have my spark plugs changed so I figured I'd give it a shot and do it myself.

Basically here it is, after I started the engine back up there was a clicking. I don't think it's the injectors as the clicking speeds up if i give it a little gas. It's then followed by a rough idle.

Any ideas?

Oh and I was using Bosch +4 Platinums

Thanks guys

Check the plug wires and make sure that they are seated properly first. Then double check and make sure that you have the wires routed correctly - the coil has the numbers on it and as I recall the driver side (4 -5- 6) is 4-6-5 on the coil.

rough idle is usually an ignition problem. if its not rough all the time then you probably didn't cross wires. Has it thrown a code? misfires would throw codes?

This can also be caused by the plugs. Do the Bosch plugs have the same reach into the combustion chamber as the original plugs and are they are all properly tightened. Did you use a can of compressed air to blow any loose debris away from the plug hole opening when you pulled out the original plugs?

Thanks for the feedback guys.

I went back through some of the other forums I read and looked deeper - seems that some of the guys who use the +4's are having some issues.

I just went and grabbed some basic NGK's to stay on the safe side.

We'll find out in a couple of hours when I have time to work on it again.

Learning is fun =P

It's sad that the +4's have problems. When I had my VW's, they loved the +4's and they lasted forever! With these American cars, most people use the simple single or double electrode cheapies and have zero problems.
