Default Saleen Shifter Kit

Hey guys,

My buddy in Vegas is going to help me install a short throw shifter kit on my car. He had purchased the saleen kit for his gt and ended up not using it so now I am planning to use it but I cant seem to find anywhere if it will work. Has anyone seen anything on this or have any information that will help me out?

Thank You

Yep, want the install PDF?

You MUST get the main bolt super tight AND
use some blue or red loctite on the threads.
And lube all pivot points.
Its the cheap version of the short shifter but
for the price, it outperforms the expensive models.
And for free, you are miles ahead of the game.
I did my install from under the vehicle on ramps
and it was super simple.
All you are doing is lengthing the shifter shaft on the
underside of the shifter shafts piviot ball. This decreases
the throw ratio. I also have heard of cutting off 1/2"
off of the shifter **** mounting threads to further
decrease the shifter throw ratio.
Poly Shifter Bushings are mandatory with this kit.

Did you steal that pic from THIS POST?
It thought the pic looked awful familiar...

I have had this "kit" installed for about a year or so. It's awesome. As a matter of fact I think it works better than the Hurst STS it replaced. I did the install myself in the driveway.

Thank you both for all of the info. 157, thanks so much for all of the extra help I would have never known that I needed the bushings and I didn't have the install manual so that was very helpful too. Would this bushing kit work just as well?

I have some left over money in my paypal that I can use to pay for it on ebay.

Also, what kind of performance improvement did you notice this kit gave? Does it make it more fun to drive?

Quick question is there any reason this won't work on a 2010 V6?

Heck yea it makes it more fun to drive...shorter shift throw BTW...the poly bushings aren't mandatory. However they will make the shift more stiff feeling. I'm still running the stock rubber bushings and it's fine....have been since day one. I know the difference in the feel between the stock rubber and the polly because the Hurst I had came with the polly bushings.

I've never heard it being on a 2010 but since the tranny is the same I wouldn't see why it wouldn't.

That kit will work.
I have yet to miss a 2nd to 3rd shift yet since installation.
