Another moron exhaust question
I called the flowmaster people today looking for a decent price, and they said they have none for the v6 only the GT. Well, damnit, what all do i need to do to get some 40's mufflers and an X-pipe on my car? Can I run 2.5 pipes of the Cat, and just install the mufflers? Or what?
Oh and what are the risks of having a muffler place fabricate some pipes for me?
I want exhaust so fricken bad i cant see straight, and i keep running in to little problems. I thank all of you who have replied, and helped me learn about my sweet new (now slightly scratched *fumes*) ride. I appreciate all the information on this website, and have been glued to the boards for the past week or so. Thanks guys.

K&N doesnt have a kit out yet, so most of the peeps here that have duals have had them fabricated, you can go to any reliable muffler shop and they can handle it (i.e. mineke). The only problem a few have run into was that the hole you need to cut for your extra exhaust, if not cut large enough, might get too hot and melt your bumper. This link might help too...

RE: Another moron exhaust question
I had flowmasters 40's installed on my 3.8 7yrs ago at and muffler shop. They started behind the cats and ran straight pipes all the way back.(fabricated). Some people who aren't aware my car has a 3.8 always ask if it has 4.6 just because of the sound. YOu wouldn't believe people with V-8's wanting to race win the come up on the sound of the little six.

Dude I just had meineke install mine Friday. I went with true dual right after each cat. into an x-pipe. I used flowmaster 40's and they even cut the notch in the bumper for me - it looks killer and sounds even better. It cost me $500 for everything including some bad a$$ chrome tips (I wanted mine like 4 inches out from the bumper - looks tough).
I am not saying u need my exact setup but just know it can be done and be done for around $500....... I went with the xpipe I can honestly say without any other mods this thing gets up and go - big time difference over stock exhaust and setup. I heard all kinds of things about loosing lowend torque by freeing things up too much.. none of this is noticable and the car moves way better than before.... so off to the dyno sometine in near future to get the truth...

Me too $456.00 to be exact straight back from the cats with H pipe flowmaster 40's and stainless tips. This guy didn't want to cut my bumper either, so i went down and cut it myself even if you don't cut it perfect you won't notice once the exhaust is in place.
