at stop lights, i race to the speed limit all the time. there is no law about how fast one reaches the speed limit, just dont break it. And for what its worth... I was driving down the highway, when a red dodge hemi truck was beside me and gunned his truck trying to get me to race... funny as hell, as all the cardboard boxes blew out of the rear of his truck all over the highway, he had to pull over and collect his belongings. I laughed at him as a passed him.

Ive been driving for 22 years, not one ticket of any kind and i have never heard of anyone getting a ticket for exhibit of speed or any crap like that. not once.
Exhibition of speed
23109. (a) A person shall not engage in a motor vehicle speed contest on a highway. As used in this section, a motor vehicle speed contest includes a motor vehicle race against another vehicle, a clock, or other timing device. For purposes of this section, an event in which the time to cover a prescribed route of more than 20 miles is measured, but where the vehicle does not exceed the speed limits, is not a speed contest.
(b) A person shall not aid or abet in any motor vehicle speed contest on any highway.

Well you havent been around a state trooper on a bad day. Just last night I got pulled over and given a warning for doing 70mph (the daytime limit) in a 65 (nighttime limit) after dark. My GF was pulled over for "accelerating to hard" and "making noise" and her truck isnt very loud. the small town cops around here will pull you over for any tiny thing they can possible get away with. They have nothing elso to do.

any state that makes it illegal to pump your own gas, cant be taken seriously when making laws. any idiot can see that.
