Hi there,

I'm looking for confirmation for insurance purposes if a mustang I am insuring is fitted with ABS or not, it is a 2007 Deluxe and it DOES have a TCS button, I don't have the documentation just yet, I'm just curious since the dealership listed the vehicle has having neither TC or ABS, while the salesperson claimed it had both. Needless to say I'm somewhat confused and I'm looking for a way to confirm either way before I actually pick the vehicle up.

1st of all, there's a link that eludes me where you can put your VIN in and get a copy of your window sticker. That should help. Try searching the forum or Googling it. I'd help but I'm at work.

2nd, I believe all S197's, V6 and GT, came with ABS.

3rd, If you have a Deluxe WITH a TCS button, then I believe you have one of the upgrade packages that does indeed give you TCS (for what its worth...).

Look in the engine compartment and see if there is an ABS control unit next to the air filter. If there is, the car has ABS and TCS.

That's my VIN and notice the TAG000A000 MHENLEY part. Our Pony was special ordered!!!!

Going through the Ford OEM Workshop Manual there is no referenece to ABS in the VIN or any other coding found on the door jam sticker.

BTW, Anti Lock Brakes / Traction Control is option 552

If you don't have a TCS button on the dash then you don't have ABS - Ford didn't offer one without the other.
