Tuners: SCT vs. Diablo vs. Bullydog
Wazup people!!!
Just to see what' the verdict on tuners. I'm not a pro on mechanics, so that's a starting point. 2010 v6, automatic tranny, with the typical mods (exhaust, pulley, etc.)
USmusclemods says:
SCT: 15-20+ RWHP
Diablo: 15-20 RWHP
Bullydog: 25+ RWHP
From what I've heard: - SCT is one of the top tuners for mustangs.
- Diablo is the easiest one.
Now, I read that for automatic tranny's the best tuner is SCT, cause diablo was "designed" for manual. Is this true?
Which one is best? Is bullydog a good one? Are those the real HP's?
Any other info. will be well appreciated!
Thanks!!!!

I have an Sct model 3015 with 3 canned tunes and room for 3 custom tunes. The predator is similar but I have no experience with bully dog. If you are planning a dyno tune buy whatever they are using but I love this Sct model. There are so many adjustable parameters and is very user friendly. It loads up tunes in about 2 minutes. I am very happy with it

Roughly 70% of the forum members are running tunes. I would guess that about 2/3 or more are using the SCT, 1/4 are running the Diablo and the rest are dyno or other tuners. In my almost 4 years on the forum I never heard of bullydog.
With that, the handheld has nothing to do with performance. It's who writes the better tunes. The canned tunes from SCT and Diablo suck. You can get custom tunes for both handhelds but very few vendors support the Diablo these days. Bama used to support both but they were absorbed by American Muscle (AM) and only support the SCT. Brenspeed supports SCT. Both of them write awesome tunes but Bama/AM tends to hold the edge for autos.
Real world, expect about 15-20 RWHP gains on your V6 with a Brenspeed or AM tune. 7-15 RWHP with the canned Diablo or SCT tune.

NP. And for the REAL answers, the tech support folks at both AM and Brenspeed will answer any questions you have to help you along the way. Both AM & Brenspeed have people that are also on the forum.

Yeah, I know, me too... until I saw this, and for me it kinda sounds "too good to be true" in comparison with other leading tuners.

I have an SCT tuner for my '05 and it is great. Made a huge difference & with the AM Bama tunes for life, I can easily update whenever I change the car. With 3 stored custom tunes, the change is quick and simple. Highly recommend.
