RET tunes my car as well. I was over there yesterday and Greg wrote a SMOG only tune for me. ONLY means this tune has too much timing and the car must be driven very carefully NO big revs. He said it could melt the pistons! Greg thinks this will pass and then load the other tune back in while still in the parking lot.
I plan to go for the SMOG check next week. I'll let you know if it works.

cool. let us know the results. sorry, missed the part in your OP that you're already RET tuned.

BTW, doesn't your car need an approximate amount of miles on the smog tune to complete the required emission monitors before the smog test itself?

Well I loaded my Smog tune and drove slowly over to the Smog check place. Only put 10 miles on the new tune, but enough to heat up the Cats.
The technician seemed a little confused when he opened up the hood, but I pointed out the CARB sticker and we were all set.

The car passed with no problems, all the numbers were well below the Max level and all but Nox were far below the average passing level.

Congrats. Just when through this in MA this week as well. Had some issues on the first try months back, first some required monitors were shut off in Doug's emissions tune, then once that was fixed it became apparent there was a wiring fault in one of the rear 02's

Got that fixed, and then we started getting hit with 6"+ snowstorms twice a week for the next two months

Finally got some (relatively) clean roads this week and I was able to take it in and get it passed.
