mechanic found AC Clutch sitting at the bottom of my engine bay.. wat do u think?
hey guys, ok so heres what happend:
Friday Night: Went out late, used the AC in the car working just fine.
Saturday Morning: Driving around for work, try to use the AC, it doesnt work. Compressor wont kick in
I took it to a mechanic that same day and low and be hold he finds the ac clutch sitting at the bottom of the engine bay. Mechanic is telling me theres an 89% chance he can fix it, but the 11% uncertainty is that the compressor is blown and ill have to replace the entire thing.
He told me it might be covered under my powertrain warranty, but called ford and it isnt.
So heres my second idea. I had my right engine head replaced back in september at the dealer (BAD DECISION, Cost was about 3K) but when i got the car back, the fuel line in the engine bay was clipped. Thankfully, i had pictures of the engine bay the day i dropped it off at the dealership so i was able to prove to them that the fuel line was not cut before i gave the car to them. So they fixed it.. Could it be possible that the mechanic also removed the bolt on the AC clutch when he switched out the head and forgot to put it back? I dont know why he would need to remove the clutch or the bolt.. but at the same time.. he didnt have to move the fuel line either to replace the right head and look what happend.
What do you guys think?
