"Hard drive spinning" noise when car is turned off?
So for the past few days (really been there since I got the car) when I shut off my car I hear this whirring noise like a computer hard drive slowing down/spinning to a stop or something... Anyway, I though nothing of it until I saw something about it on another forum and wondered hmm, I should ask real professionals about this (other forum had NO explanation) so I was wondering if you guys have this weird noise too?
Thanks for your time, I appreciate it! |
Yeah, my 2005 makes that noise when I shut her down.

The GT's have a whine down noise after shut off. Not sure if that applies to the v6.

Mine has it too. Lot's of spinning parts in there, they can't stop on command. The momentum of everything in there takes a little bit of time to dissipate from friction. It's normal.

Instrument cluster. Normal.

I have it too. It's pretty much normal.

Ah I see, I would have never guessed it had to do with the instrument cluster! Thanks guys, really put my mind to ease haha!

Thats a new one. Nothing spins at a fast enough rate in the cluster to produce a whirring noise. The stepper motors only move when the actual rpms or mphs change from one value to the next. Turn off your blower motor and see if the noise disappears. |
