Dual Exhaust with Flowmaster American Thunder Mufflers
So, I was planning on keeping stock exhaust and just adding the American Thunder V6 muffler from AM. But when I go to purchase one they are out of stock because they went on sale. So since they are gone I figured I might as well go with dual exhaust. Now Im wondering if the American Thunder GT mufflers will fit onto the V6 with duals (ya, noob question) and if any one knows if it will sound decent?

Once you convert to duals, you can put any GT Mufflers on. You have to decide if you want to go with an H or X pipe. I got the X pipe set up with two GT Mufflers. It's not as loud as other's I've heard, but definately waaaay better than the putt-putt sound of the single V6 exhaust.

I would definitely shop around for a good quote.
I had one shop that was going to charge me $320 keeping the stock Y and just buying another exhaust like I already have... so they were going to charge me more for a worse job.
Another shop in town was going to charge me $310 for an H pipe and two American Thunder mufflers, and the install.

More breathability on an x.
The Y pipe doesn't flow enough gasses... thats why people do dual exhaust.
Power gains will be minimal since the flow is restricted at the Y flange.
Not to say you have to do what everyone else is doing.....but, I would say 98% of us here on MF that have duals, either have an X or an H pipe.
Ask someone from a Muffler shop and see what they tell you.

The negative thing about keeping the Y is there is no real power gain.
It won't be much cheaper to keep your Y pipe anyway, so why not just get the H or X, that is what I think '07 is saying. You will also have the true dual set up.
