Optima Battery question

I sell batteries for a living and we do not carry them anymore, in the past you could park your race car in Oct or Nov, charge the battery in May and you were good to go. Now days if you do that you will be buying a new battery in the spring. Its too bad because all the racers that I know used Optima's. Deka makes a great 5 year AGM that I will be pushing this spring. I sell them a lot to truck owners. The group 65's have 920CCA at 0. And they are dual purpose.

Yep, the cheaper Mexico manufactured optima
now requires the optima charger for it to last.
Too bad the optima charger costs more than the battery... ($200)

yeesh. wish i wouldve known all this before i bought mine last year

Thats OK, that mistake will be gone soon (landfill)
with no reminders of it ever have been in there (except
the new alternator you had to buy because of it).
