Stock Tires - Everyones Opinion

Stock Tires - Everyones Opinion
Hello. I am having a fit with my factory V6 tires in the rain.
Wet traction seems horrible even with traction control enabled.
All the "reviews' I read about the tire says that they are great in rain.
What is going on? Most reviews are on camerys etc.
Asking opinions from other Mustang owners.
My other car is a Saturn with Toyo 800 Ultras. Driving it you can not even tell the roads are wet!
Am I just not used to this heavy of a car in the rain or are others not impressed with the factory rubber?
Thanks
Steven

First mod I did was replace the balloons they provided as stock wheels/tires. The stock GT 17" Pirellis is what I replaced with and I am very happy. The pirelli pzero nero tires go well in rain, and on dry pavement are nicely stuck to the road. Lower profile look is a big bonus. Bought my wheel/tire package for $575 - money well spent.

I used to spin in the rain all the time with the stock tires. I thought they were great on dry pavement. I switched to the 17" Pirelli's that are on the GT too. Love 'em! Well, of course, it's rare that I drive the Mustang in the rain (that's what the beater Escort is for!). If I had stuck with the stock 16" wheels, I would have gone with a wider tire.

I am so about to replace these. Just from the responses here, apparently I am not the only one who does not beleive the perfect 10 rating they received "from their manufacturer" for wet handling.
As far as I can find out the
245 is the widest that will fit on the factory rim.
245/50 is supposed to maintain the overall size.

I am just trying to burn up these factory balloon tires I have. I got some 17" bullitt rims sitting in the next room that need tires (just trying to figure out what size I want), as soon as I get them they are going on my car.

the tires that came stock on my Mustang suck. They squeal on what I'd consider 'slow' turns (25 - 30 mph) on asphalt, just not happy with them.
But i'm not buying new ones until they wear out. i'm cheap.
