H-pipe will help make a better tone, x-pipe might net you 1-2hp more than a h pipe. I have a modified pypes off-road h pipe with flow 40's and I can hear the car easily a 1/4 mile away when it's WOT.

How much did that cost to do?
EDIT: And would it be possible to mount an X pipe onto this... http://www.americanmuscle.com/magnaf...stomer-reviews

I'm sorry, I'm new to all this. Where can I get those parts at? Links would be much appreciated. Thanks.
EDIT: I know where to get the X pipe at but where can I get a mid pipe? And if I install an X pipe do I have to remove my cats or do I just put them in front of them?

No problem, Warpig, everyone starts at square one. You'll learn a lot simply by frequenting this forum often and reading up.
Midpipes can be fabricated at shops, you don't need to buy model-specific pipe kits unless you plan on doing the install yourself and don't have the equipment to bend pipe. The installation of the x-pipe occurs after your cats so the cats should not be touched.
Cats go to X-pipe/H-pipe go to mid pipes go out to your mufflers.
Finally, what JimC said, don't remove those cats. I've heard a ton of v6s with straight exhaust (no cats and no mufflers) and a few with no cats and they all sounded awful and obnoxious. Money wasted.

So I called my local muffler shop and they said it would be around $700 for an X pipe, 2 Flow master original 40's, 2 stainless tips, all the other piping I need, and installation. Is that a fair price?

Hmm... I'd do some more looking around. I got all parts and labor at just under 500. Maybe $700 is a good price in your area, maybe not. Do some more looking around! It took me three shops to find the one that would do it for the cheapest (and knew what they were doing).
