Does your clutch foot touch the floor?

Does your clutch foot touch the floor?
I got my v6 mustang 7 days ago and its my first manual car (only stalled it 2 times so far ) I was wondering what you guys think is easier. to leave your clutch foot kind of suspended on the clutch pedal without your heel touching the floor or have your foot on the pedal and heel on the floor? I have tried both ways but can't seem to keep my heel on the floor and push the clutch all the way in. I never stall starting out anymore but I am still nowhere near perfect. I know it takes time too but I was just wondering.

Well, I'm not an expert stick driver, but one rule I've heard over and over, never ride your clutch. I keep my left foot on the floor unless I need to press the clutch. Only time I will drive on the clutch if it's in first and I'm in traffic or only moving slightly. Other than than, I keep the foot off the pedal. When I do press the clutch, I press it all the way to the floor then change gears.

having driven manual transmissions for about 45 years I'd advise you to keep your heel off the floor so you can give full pressure and control when depressing the clutch. also definitely keep you foot off the clutch unless you are using it. the pressure of "riding" the clutch will allow the throwout bearing to make constant contact with the pressure plate and cause premature wear and failure.

ok thanks guys I'm slowly getting better. I also have had the problem of transitioning into second gear, you really have to let the clutch out slowly and apply gas to make it smooth, I shift out of first at about 2700rpm. I love this car though we are getting the after effects of hurricane katrina today and I got the back end sliding out around some turns

first gear and I are still not completely aquainted, keep getting the whiplash wobble thing occasionally. I was out of practice from not driving a manual for about 18 months.
