Clutch replacement: Spec Stage 1 or Centerforce?
#11
I have had no problems with my CenterForce Dual Friction set up. I have plenty of street miles on it but unfortunately only a few track passes. I called CF to check on the torque specs before i bought it and they were very helpful. If I am recalling correctly they said the DF is good for 400ft/lbs.

Centerforce Dual Friction clutches generate up to a 90 percent increase in holding capacity over stock systems. These clutch-and-disc sets are designed for engines producing high horsepower and big torque outputs. Perfect for 4WD vehicles, all Centerforce clutch systems provide smooth engagement and light pedal pressure without compromising high performance.
I probably have 50k street mi on mine with no problems. At the track it had no problem holding up to the the 100 shot, can't say as much for my spider gears hence I have no long term evaluation of it under performance conditions.

Interesting, on the AM website, I read alot of good reviews on the spec 1 clutch kit.
Update: I did several more test today and my clutch seems to be working fine. I drove up a slope going 40 miles an hour and put it into 5th gear, and when I punched it, the RPMS went up slow, same speed as the MPH increased. I did the same thing on the highway and the results were the same. Any ideas on what could cause the lag? I recently cleaned my throttle body and Mass Air Sensor to see if anything changes.

Changed out the fuel filter yesterday evening! I cleaned my Airaid air filter a month ago. The throttle response feels better and haven't experienced the lag thu sfar. I am hoping this did the trick!!
