Rear brakes
#2
Yea i didnt want to either, but the mac tool guy comes by my shop and i bought it for $157.99. To me the tool its self isnt worth it but it made my job easier. My dad had the same problem on his 2005 ford 500 but he did some kind of rigged thing to were it worked and didnt harm the car. just took FOREVER. Also just a tip when i switched oever to my hawk performance brakes i used the tool for the rear and i some how put them in a little bit slanted so make sure you dont make my mistake. But where to get the tool i would try advance, sears, ford, or if anything go online to snap-on, mac tools, or mac-co.

You can rent them from an auto part store, ask for a caliper compressor. Personally I have always used needle nose pliers. When you take the pad out of the caliper you will see the cylinder and there will be a groove on each side of it. I get needle nose pliers grab as firmly as possible and turn, it works.

Yup just did mine yesterday, got the kit from Autozone, left a $60 deposit fully refunded when you bring it back. Made the job real easy to have the right tool.
I did notice on the driver side rear brake the outside pad was worn more then the inside pad, any ideas on this? Thanks!

That's a sign that the caliper wasn't floating as it should. It usually needs a good cleaning of the pins or rails that it floats on, then some caliper grease. Don't use bearing grease here.
