Does passenger GT muffler bolt on a V6? Piping line up & exhaust hanger the same?

Simple answer yes they do, they are designed the same except the older s197 v6 only have a single muffler setup.

They swap direclty. Only difference being that there's a harmonic balancer (read- silly weight) attached to the stock V6 muffler... AND... the V6 muffler attaches via THREE hangers. The GT muffler only uses two.

But yeah, you can swap 'em sans any issues and it makes quite a difference soundwise.

The swap to a GT muffler is a common V6 upgrade, particularly a GT muffler from a manual (the muffler on the auto is a tad quieter; yes, it IS a different p/n).

auto is stamped F1-7991-R, manual is stamped F1-7849-R
