AND WOW! Those 8" woofers are night and day. It's like they weren't there before haha.

I was having issues with the Shaker reading discs, especially when it was hot out so I swapped it for a Clarion CZ500. I had already replaced the door and rear deck speakers. I wired it up for a sub in the back but these little door subs sound so good I think I'm just going to leave my trunk open to haul stuff!

My shaker is awful with discs. Anything but the most expensive, high quality discs will skip and eject, saying "bad disc". It is ridiculous.

CD-Rs are almost unusable in the shaker
because of their 'organic' substrate nature and
the high temps that occure inside the vehicle.
Now OEM Manufacture CDs with the aluminum
reflective substrate CAN withstand the heat...

Yeah, that was a lot of my problem. I would have to eject the cd-rs and run them under the AC to cool them down. It was a pain. I also had problems with the unit skipping mp3s entirely on some discs and I would have to go back to the song and fast forward a tad right as it started otherwise it would play around 3 seconds and go on to the next song. I decided to go to a player that had bluetooth built in and skip the cds almost entirely.

Can I ask what you changed it to, did you have to take out the whole center console, and could you post a pic?

I was thinking of doing this because I would love to have bluetooth to use with my phone and Google Music. But I don't really want to give up the factory look either.

i dont use discs anymore. purchased the mp3/ipod attachment from Best Buy several years back. has a few hiccups here and there but overall... GREAT. didn't want to alter the factory look either which is why i went this route.

I installed the factory Ipod kit from Best Buy a few years ago on my 2006 stang I just sold. The ipod unit worked well but I kept having problems with the ipod cable busting where it would plug into the iPod! Went through 2 Ipod cables. Otherwise a good product.
