Default 2005 Power Driver Seat

Having problems with the driver side power seat - don't know if it's the switch or motor....will slide forward but not back and will not tilt up or back. The motor does make a noise when trying to tilt down but sounds like it is jammed...no noise at all trying to tilt up. After playing with the switch for awhile the motor seemed to get hot...don't know if this is normal or if the motor is bound up. If I need to replace the motor, how difficult of a job is it? I can see the 2 frame bolts in front but dont know what type of tool is used for the rear bolts. Can someone please advise?? Also should I replace both motor and switch together. I hope this is not a bad repair.

LOL, Nuke. Paypal ain't gonna help!

OP, I haven't had one of those apart yet but most likely, the gears (made out of plastic) are as toothless as a redneck jawline by now...
The shaft is spinning but the gears won't engage properly.
If the motor is binding, then you have another issue but you won't know until you have the seat out.
If you hear the motor, then you know that the switch is good since power is still being delivered.

The back part of the seat frame has a plastic cover that needs to be pulled back (not lifted up) in order to get to the bolts...
So get those out and undo those bolts first, then undo the front ones.
It might be a pain in the butt since your track doesn't move all the way back anymore but you should be able to do it.

Good luck.
