depends on what you want as the end result from your v6....if you wanna eventually supercharge/turbo it then a cold air is pointless....

just to be clear, i wasnt saying to get "performance" wires, plugs, etc. i was just saying to make sure your car has been properly maintained and is close to "factory" specs before modding is all

3. Dual exhaust
4. Lower your car and upgrade springs/shocks/suspension

While you are doing those, throw in a fair mix of appearance mods and get performance tires.

And most importantly, happy modding!
What CAI/Tune combo do you suggest?

For CAI/Tune I would recommend a kit from American Muscle. They have great customer support, and free custom tunes for life. As for which CAI, there are lots of different opinions on which are best. From what I've seen, most people lean towards Steeda.

As for the rearend, if you're meaning axles and such, just the entire rearend from a stock GT, then some 3.73 or 4.10 gears.

I really like my C&L CAI/sct tuner from American Muscle. My dad is also pretty happy with his JLT. Basically, pretty much any CAI is going to get about the same performance, so you should just pick one that Bama (AM) or Brenspeed tune for and that you like the looks of.

As far as rearends go, I would suggest 4.10s. You probably wont' supercharge your car, and if you are spending the money, you might as well get the most power you can.

Do you do alot of highway driving? 4.10s hurt gas milage abit. Most of us don't mind, but if you do alot of highway, maybe go with 3.73s.

In your car's rearend, there are gears. When we say 4.10s, 3.73s, 3.55s, 3.31s, etc, we are referring to the gear ratio. The higher the gear ratio is, the faster you accelerate. However, too high, and you lose top speed and gas mileage. Most people settle with 3.73s or 4.10s, which is a significant upgrade from the 3.31s most Mustangs come with from Ford.

Ohh...ok. Thanks. And how much does it cost to swap out the original 3.31s with 4.10s? Where can you purchase the new rearend too?
