As far as doing gears. YES WAY!
I have NEVER heard of these cars blowing the rearend with 3.73's or 4.10's.
Fat chance on that happening.

Ask yourself this. How knowledgeable is your father on THESE cars?
Maybe he knows a thing or two or even more about cars but I'm talking THESE CARS.
You are FINE with a gear swap.
+1, the older generation refers to a lot of things on these new cars to what they did back then! Lol.

It was my uncle that was talking about the traction bars, not my dad. My dad knows most everything there is to know about cars, newer and older generations. He won't talk to me about this car, because he despises Ford with a passion.

Going back to suspension and coil springs. I mentioned to my uncle that I have coil springs and not leaf springs. After discussing it for awhile, he said that there is something you can buy to put inbetween the coils to have the same effect as traction bars. Not sure if this is true, or total B/S.

I second that. Any man that despises Ford for no good reason, (And there really aren't any good reasons at all to despise them that I can think of, except the pinto, but lets not go there) does not know the American way.

Assuming your father is a GM man, had it not been for Henry Ford and the assembly line, his crappy Chevy's wouldn't exist.

Side note, look into an XCharger, will totally wake up your car.

He is most definitely a GM person. I grew up knowing that there is nothing better than a Chevy. He just see's Ford as inferior cars. He fixed up my mom's '67 Mustang when they first started dating. Restored everything, inside and out. Then when he got done, made her sell it and then go buy a Camaro...

Doesn't make any sense...

I was looking into those. They are kind of on the expensive side. Maybe when I get some cash, I can buy one.

On an unrelated note: My mom just bought 2 3rd brake light decals, one for me, one for her. I'm pretty nervous putting those on, only to have them come out crooked. Are they as easy as people say they are?

So long as you're careful, it's not too hard.

I meant to ask this earlier, I've been looking for used 8.8" rear. I can only find older Mustang GT's (< 04). Will those 8.8" rears fit on mine, or will I need to find a 2005-2009 GT?

I think the axles are shorter or something of the like. You definitely need an 05-09 rear end. And yes, they are getting much harder to find.

If you want to know how to find a good 8.8 rear for cheap, Craigslist...
Just ask Alec, he practically stole his.
