I have a glass pack on my lawnmower and still cant mow the
grass at 5AM without waking up all the neighbors. Maybe
that drivers side manual GT take-off I didnt use on the V6
can be swapped out in place of the glass pack...

I was going to do a thread asking who had Cherry Bomb or Thrush Glass Packs !
& also the part info & possible sound clips..

You guys on this thread who are bad mouthing this sound, "Have you actually heard these mufflers personally" ??
I see the $500 - $700 axle-backs [cough] from name brands posser suppliers..
I don't see my self paying this much for 2 mufflers & a couple pieces of bent pipe !

We ran these type mufflers after I got home from Service in the 70's, & thought they sounded Great !

I'm more interested in hanging them & proper fitment, so if you haven't had 1st hand experience with these "Let it Be"

So anyone who actually has these installed ,, Please step up & Let us know !

I have heard only one 06, V6 with exhaust mods and sounded like a 4 cyl fart machine. I had to laugh. Muffler from 06, V8, I have heard on single exhaust and a little better than my stock one. Driving 110 mile commute every day, 90% interstate, a louder sound than what I have, would get to me after a while. Especially if taking on a vacation trip. Yup, different strokes for different folks and doesn't make the V6 any faster, but sounds more closely like you wish you had a V8. IMO

Please posts links to these items said to exist...

Were these odd fire V8s or even fire V6es?
70s motors and 2000 motors are not one in the same...

Go to your local muffler man. He can tell you all about
hangin and fittin mufflers.
If you are asking questions about where to hang them
and proper fitment, it seems a little beyond your level
of ability....

Nor sure of the even or odd [even cars back then had different firing orders], so not sure of your sizzle here.
So seeing as you're an expert on Cherry Bombs, which 1 did you use & how did it sound on your 4. banger ???

Actually I might look into FRPP Touring or Sport Mufflers...

As for my experience & expertise , you couldn't match it. I doubt
37 yrs of Mechanical Work, Build, Repair, Machinist & Hot Rodd'n
But I'll probably use a muffler expert as he has tools I don't, cutters & weld & not to mention the handiest "The Hoist"...

Just popping in to put my .02 in with the "No Glass-Packs on a 4.0" crowd. They sound terrible on our cars, IMO. GT Takeoffs sound great, and I'm super happy with how my FRPP muffler sounds, especially now that it's broken in. Now I just need to get one for the left side, slap on a GT/CS bumper, and have a shop fab me an H-Pipe.

EDIT: I'm assuming you have the 4.0. Honestly, I've not heard a 3.7 with glass packs, so I cannot attest to their quality of sound.

Trooper, i'm not sure about the OP'er but I'm running a '14 3.7
I also looked into the FRPP touring axle backs, but they're $700
Heard a clip, & they sound Good !
After hearing some of these guys i'm wondering if Current ['11-'14] GT axle-back take offs will fit on my 3.7 ?

As for the OP & myself, in my young years Cherry Bombs had a very rich sound..
As it stands now, i'm going with the stockers while I sort all this out !
The GT take-offs sound more affordable..
.

Thats for a GT (dual exhaust) not for the V6.
We are talking a V6 not a V8.
So your thinking still does not apply here.

30 something mechanic years and not sure on the even/odd fire scheme?

Seems I've been welcomed by a 4.0 Banger, 157db.

Reason I threw in the quoted Magnaflow from a GT, is people talk as if they [GT to V6] can be substituted for. My Last Magnaflow was on a 2002 z-28 convertible & I loved it !

On the Cherry Bombs, I've given up on them. Not that they sound or perform bad on the 3.7.. More on the longtivity of the product... Check you tube for cherry bomb sounds!

Being a Old Fart & a noob on this forum, i'd like to get along with everyone & gleen from other experience , I can tell with you that's not possible..
So lets just exist on this forum, but yet not forum together..
a33 holls like you I don't need !

By the way ! a good axle back for a 3.7 is fairly expensive.
I've installed cat backs for less !
But here's your proof.. from AM no less
