Hi, I'm looking to buy a spoiler for my car. When I went and pick up the spoiler, I realized there are 4 mounting bolts under the spoiler. I am planning to only use 3M tape to secure the spoiler as I do not want to go through the hassle of drilling the trunk and potentially causing rust.

Anyway, picture below are the mounting bolts shown. What are the easiest way to remove the mounting bolts? If I can cut it off, what tool should I use the cut off the bolts?

bolt cutters and a grinding wheel would do the trick.

They are 'studs' and can be simply screwed out...
Then send them to me...
This applies to the OEM Ford spoilers only...
It sure looks like an OEM spoiler to me...

Good luck on getting that spoiler to stay with only tape...
Better use some 3M 4298 Adhesion Promoter as well if
you want to have a remote chance of it staying in place...

YES! it is factory OEM spoiler. The guy had the dealership remove the spoiler before he picked up his brand new car.

It can be screwed out? It really seems like there is no play for the bolts to be screwed out at all.. ? But I'll give that a try..

I read that plenty of spoilers from the manufacturer are just taped on as well..

lol I know the tape Ford uses is pretty stout ! trying to take my spoiler off was a pain in the ace !

there is blue loctite on the studs oem....

crank em out and send em to me???

If you pay for the OEM Ford 3M attaching
tape, you might, might have a chance to
get it to stay on or be on the butt end of a
'it flew off at high speeds and hit the mini-van
behind me in the winshield causing soccer mom
to swerve and hit another car flipping hers with
6 kids in the back on their way to a soccer match'
lawsuit.
Costs more than an OEM trunk lid with 4 holes in it
from the junkyard and painted to match your stang.

i havent got the spoiler yet. I met up with the seller yesterday, and I didnt buy it that time because of the bolts in place.

He asked me to make sure and do my research before paying him the money.

definitely not able to get the bolts out -_- i used pliers and kept pulling it out, but it wont..

thoughts on removing the bolt?

I would just go ahead and use the studs as intended. The trunk is aluminum I believe so you won't see rusting. Just put some paint on the edges to seal them back up and call it good.

They dont 'pull out'. they THREAD out.
