Default Car Starting

Ok I have been stumbling with this one for a while, I have done research and it seems to be limited quality results, most typical car starting problems occur when cold starting mine is starting after been run for a while. I drive the car for a while, the engine obviously at operating temperature. I will shut off the car and sometimes it won't start, the starter sounds weak and I might get a few turns out of the starter, kinda like when you have a dead battery. Sometimes it starts however. It's not the battery, new alternator as well, I can only think of two possible things, either a bad ground or possibly the heat from the engine causes the solenoid on the starter to gum up. Now if I leave it set for like 10 to 15 minutes after running for it a while I don't have this problem its just those first few minutes.

brings back memories of my 67 Chevelle or sounds similar anyway.
The starter was right next to the passenger side header and after
driving for a while, it would take 15 minutes or so to cool down before it would turn over.

It has been my thought, I have been thinking about making a heat shield and trying to brunt some of the heat and see if that works
