4.6 throttle body on 4.0??
Hey, I've been reading around the internet that a throttle body from a 200-2004 4.6 v8 should bolt right up to our 4.0's. Is there any truth behind this? The reason I am asking is because the largest throttle body I could find online for our sixers is a 70mm BBK throttle body. I'm sure that a take off throttle body from a v8 would be cheaper than the BBK unit. Thanks!

It won't really offer much of an increase in performance, but I am pretty sure they won't hook up without any mods. You might try porting and polishing your throttle body, you can buy one for what I hear around 100 dollars, and they do show significant increases in airflow (and they definitely bolt straight up).

No reason to other than it might look cool and be a nice conversation piece. You'll get a LOT more performance from a CAI & tune.
The 4.0 can only ingest so much air and the stock TB is well capable of providing all it can handle. Unless you go FI or do some major internal work, aftermarket TB's are a waste.

I'd avoid the BBK like the plague... However there is a cheaper/better alternative IMO. I have a stock throttle body that has been ported and polished from eBay. It may not give you much of a gain N/A but I can tell you that it def. increased throttle response on my car and provided a small gain. They are about $110 on eBay. JimC has the guys contact info that sells them if you would like to check it out.
